Austria is a very sweet girl who did not have a very good life before she came to SNARR Northeast. She came to us pregnant with a litter of puppies and quickly went into labor soon after arriving in her foster home. She was an amazing mom to her babies who have all been adopted. now that she has fulfilled her duties as a mama, she is ready for a forever home of her own!
Austria is shy when she first meets new people but she is also very intelligent and once she figures out that you are safe and kind, she will seek out love and affection from you. She loves to be pet and have her chin scratched. She will lay down and roll over for belly rubs too! Her favorite pastimes are laying in the sun (she may be part cat) and chewing on her Nyla bones. Her favorite treat is ice cubes through the dispenser in the refrigerator door. When she hears the ice being dispensed she comes running. Loud / sudden noises startle her so she should go to a more quiet home without young children. Austria is crate trained and house trained and quite adept at counter surfing (her foster mom is working on this with her). She has had a troubled past, but we can not stress enough what a great dog she is. She has loved everyone she has met since being in her foster home and everyone has loved her as well. Her foster mom can’t understand why she hasn’t been adopted yet. If her foster mom didn’t already have 5 dogs of her own she would keep her but she knows that Austria deserves a family of her own. She will make a great addition to a family!
Austria is currently in foster located in Woodbridge, CT.

FAQs -- PLEASE READ ALL BEFORE EMAILING
**Please note that SNARR NE is a volunteer-based organization. While our volunteers will try to respond to you as quickly as possible, it is helpful if you review the following information about our adoption process before emailing:**
- LISTED BREED(S) & AGE: We are taking our best guess on age, breed, and size when fully grown, based on the puppy's/dog's physical appearance and what we might have learned about one or both parents depending on the situation. *NOTE* We rarely know a dog's exact age, nor are we able to tell the true or full breed mix of dogs as our information is limited most of the time. Because we often do not have access to medical records at the time that we are posting dogs to Petfinder, there are sometimes discrepancies between what is posted on Petfinder and what might be listed on a dog's medical records.
-We do not go on a first-come-first-serve basis for adoptions, but on best fit for a family and most importantly the puppy or dog.
- MEETING ADOPTABLE DOGS: Meet and greets will not be scheduled until after your adoption application has been fully processed and approved by one of our adoption processors.
- APPLYING ONLINE: If you fill out an online application, please do so from a computer (not a mobile device), make sure you answer ALL the questions in as much detail as possible, and that you receive a confirmation email. If you do not receive a confirmation email, that means we did NOT receive your application.
